Summer Term

Dear Students,

Your forthcoming period of study at the University of Munich shall begin soon. In order to help you get your stay off to a good start, the University’s International Club (IUCM) and the Office of International Affairs of the LMU will be offering a two week orientation course.

General Course Information

• Course: 2 - 13 April 2012
• Classes: 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. or alternatively, 2:00 p.m.until 3:30 p.m.
• Application Deadline: February 28, 2012
• Schedule

Program: 

• Assistance with the completion of important formalities - such as enrolment, registering with the municipal authorities, public transportation tickets etc. (Please bring two additional passport-sized photos, which will be used for your student public transportation ticket in Munich).
• Information about studying at the Ludwig Maximilians University and the university’s history.
• Language lessons in groups according to individual language ability.
• Student life and living in Munich.
• Review and development of German language foundations needed for study in Germany.
  
• Project work and interactive learning.

Participants

All students with admission to study at the Munich University for summer or winter term are welcome to attend the course.

Extracurricular Program

(Sponsored by the Office for International Affairs of LMU):

• Package 1: City tour, opera visit, brewery visit  "Paulaner Brauerei" (€ 20)
• Package 2: Excursion in the Alps with tour of castle of Ludwig II Neuschwanstein, Wieskirche (€ 20)

The exact dates of the excursion and supporting program will be announced upon arrival in Munich

Costs

Course fee € 140,00 (ERASMUS students, LMU exchange students need only pay € 110,00)

Supporting program (Sponsored by the Office for International Affairs of LMU):

• 1st package: € 20,00
  
• 2nd package: € 20,00
  

Please note, however, that room and board are not included in the course price. Lunch can be purchased in the student cafeteria for approximately € 3 – 5.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide housing.

Please send us  your completed online application form as soon as possible.
Application Deadline: February 28,  2012

No advanced payment is necessary. The course fee shall be paid upon the first day.
